Lines on TV screen
Vertical or horizontal lines on your TV screen
Which kind of lines do you have?
- Lines across the whole screen, picture ghosting or colours inverted: usually the T-con (timing control) board. Fixable, from $130.
- One or a few thin coloured lines that never move: often a panel column driver. Sometimes fixable; often not economical.
- Lines only on one input or app: it's the source or cable, not the TV. Try another HDMI cable.
- Half the screen dark or a blurry band: T-con, ribbon cable or panel — we test on-site.
What the visit involves
The technician runs the TV's own test pattern to separate board faults from panel faults, reseats or replaces the ribbon cables and T-con board, and checks the result before quoting anything further.

Questions
Can vertical lines on a TV be fixed?
Often, yes. If the cause is the T-con board or a loose ribbon cable, repair starts from $130. If the panel itself is damaged, a repair is usually not economical and we'll say so.
How do I fix horizontal lines on my TV screen?
First swap the HDMI cable and check the TV's own menu. If the menu also shows lines, it's an internal fault — usually the T-con board.
