TV no sound repair
TV has picture but no sound
Short answerIf your TV shows a picture but has no sound, first check the TV isn't set to output sound to a soundbar or Bluetooth device (Settings › Sound › Output). If it's set to TV speakers and still silent or crackling, the speakers or audio stage on the main board have failed. Repair costs from $90.
Quick checks
- Settings › Sound › Sound output: set to TV speaker.
- Unplug headphones, soundbar optical cable and any Bluetooth device.
- Try a different app or channel — if only one source is silent, it's the source.
Common causes we fix
- Blown or rattling speakers
- Audio amplifier fault on the main board
